The internationally active Swedish soprano Miah Persson leads this year's master class in classical singing at Piteå Summer Academy. Accompanist is Magnus Svensson. Welcome to a scenic environment at Framnäs Folk High School!
As a participant at Piteå Summer Academy, you will receive advanced-level teaching. Together with other singers, you will be led by professional musicians with extensive experience during an intensive period of learning and development.
The lessons are held in English and consist of both group and individual teaching.
Piteå Summer Academy is arranged by Framnäs Folk High School in collaboration with Festspelen.
Miah Persson
Miah Persson grew up in Hudiksvall, studied at the Opera Academy and now lives in England. She made her debut as Susanna in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro in 1998. Since then, she has been a sought-after guest on the world's opera and concert stages. In 2011, she was appointed court singer.
Miah Persson has had leading roles at the Royal Swedish Opera and has had many engagements outside Sweden. In addition to opera, she has also appeared as a concert singer at the Proms and Wigmore Hall in London.
Magnus Svensson
Pianist Magnus Svensson is considered one of Sweden's leading interpreters of the classical piano repertoire and is a valued vocal accompanist. The Stockholm Concert Hall has been his special musical residence since 2015.
Magnus Svensson is active as a musical editor at the Royal Academy of Music and is responsible for over 750 published editions. For many years he was associated with the extensive music activities at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Magnus Svensson has appeared on most major concert stages in Scandinavia, and also in the USA and several European countries. Especially in Germany, Italy and France.
Bring a mixed selection from your repertoire to the course, together with sheet music for the accompanist.

COURSE PRICE
Payment for the course, 550 SEK, includes copies of sheet music, coffee and swedish “fika” in the afternoon. Please pay when you are admitted to the course to keep your place.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD AT FRAMNÄS
Accommodation with full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner): 945 SEK/day
Accommodation with breakfast: 533 SEK/day
Accommodation only: 430 SEK/day
You pay for your stay at Framnäs reception when you arrive. We prefer payment by card.
We reserve the right to require at least 10 guests with full board in order for the restaurant to be open.
The accommodation offers self-catering options. Approximately two kilometers from Framnäs there are two grocery stores, a café and two restaurants.
Bed linen and towels are included in the prices.
Traveling to FRAMNÄS
Framnäs Folk High School is located in Öjebyn, about ten minutes by bus from central Piteå. You travel to Piteå by plane to Luleå Airport or by train to either Älvsbyn or central Luleå.

The Festival
Framnäs Folk High School and Festspelen have a long tradition of cooperation during the intensive summer days in June. The participants in the masterclasses give concerts that become part of the Festival program.
